Enjoy our suggestions for travelling to the Ebro Delta by motorhome or camper van.

We suggest renting a motorhome and spending a few unforgettable days, whether on your own, with family, or with friends—sounds good, doesn’t it?

Think about it: it could be just what you need. For a few days you can go and relax without worrying about accommodation—you just have to choose your destination.

We recommend a trip to the Ebro Delta Natural Park, a wonderful area: a vast plain formed by sands, clays, etc., which have been deposited at the mouth of the Ebro River through erosion, transport and sedimentation. For this reason, there are numerous river branches that form lagoons. This area is home to significant diversity of water birds and vegetation, and is therefore a Biosphere Reserve and a Special Protection Area for Birds.

The Ebro Delta is located in Terres de l’Ebre, in the province of Tarragona. To get there, you will need to take a narrow road from which you can see immense rice fields and lagoons, among which various paths lead in.

Natural places you cannot miss:

Trabucador Beach and Punta de la Banya

a long sandbar that will surprise you, as you have water on both sides: on the left, an extensive beach with waves; and on the right, calm water that rises as the day ends, where you can enjoy wonderful sunsets from its pier. You can access it by vehicle (see: official website). Walking, you reach the viewpoint where you can see the salt flats and flamingos. And if you like water sports, you can do kitesurfing, paddleboarding or windsurfing.

L’encanyissada and La Tancada

two lagoons that can be visited on a bike route, where we can see the Casa de Fusta, watch birds from several viewpoints, and see an old saltworks.

Món Natura Delta de l’Ebre

A centre to showcase the park’s cultural and natural richness through traditional educational and recreational activities, with guided museum visits to learn about its history and see birds.

Punta del Fangar and La Marquesa Beach

This beach is home to a magnificent lighthouse, the Fangar Lighthouse. It is a very long beach with many dunes; the walk to the lighthouse takes about two and a half to three hours round trip.

River mouth (El Garxal, Sant Antoni Island and Buda Island),

we will walk along the riverbank and, since we will not be able to go up to the Zigurat viewpoint, there are also several viewpoints at the Garxal lagoon. Note that Sant Antoni Island and Buda Island require authorisation.
